[Item 01: Lieut. Colonel Reginald Travers diary. 15 Aug. 1915 - 19 May 1916]
[Reginald John Albert Travers was a draftsman with the Dept.of Lands and a Captain in the 1st A.I.R (Militia). He served as Capt. and Intelligence Officer with the N. & M.E.F. in New Guinea from 11 Sept. 1914 until 17 Jan. 1915. This diary records his departure from Sydney on HMAT Karoola on 16 June 1915 as Captain in the 17th Infantry Battalion, 5th Brigade. Landed at Gallipoli 20 Aug. Promoted Major. Was wounded in both legs on 28 Aug. and sent to England for treatment. He rejoined his regiment in Egypt briefly before sailing with them to France in March 1916. He was awarded the D.S.O. and mentioned in despatches. He married Dorothy Holmes, only daughter of Maj. Gen. William Holmes, 13 Aug. 1914]
