Sun June 24th
Church Parade, 11-30 address by Mr Holman.   Afternoon washed clothes.   Wrote letters.  

Mon  June 25th
P.T. morning with others of 12th with men throwing live grenades.   Afternoon bayonet drill, gas  & respirators, lecture on bombs  & explosives.

Tues June 26th
P.T., Bayonet drill, open order work,  & entrenching. Mounted guard at 4-0 P.M.   Mail from here to Australia dated May 23rd & 30th sunk by submarine.  

Wed June 27th
On quarter guard until 4-0 PM.   First U.S.A. troops arrived in France.

Thur June 28th
P.T., bayonet drill, bombing, range finding  & entrenching.   Lecture on taking  & consolidating mine craters.   Raining.  

Frid June 29th
Heavy rain, marking at Rollestone [Rolleston] ranges, wet through all day.   Shifted into No. 11 Camp late in afternoon as reinforcements expected tomorrow.   Austn. mail arr.
