Werai "Look out". Werai Stn is in a network of creeks should they rise suddenly it is a case of "Look out"
Tocumwal "Deep Hole" There was a tradition amongst the blacks that a hole in the river opposite the town was unbottomable & that there was an underground river from there to "The rocks" seven miles to the N.E.
Mulwala "Much rain"
Nouranie "No rain here"
Bungleboori " a crooked bend"..A creek in this neighbourhood was called so by the blacks on acct of a crooked bend in it.

"The place of pines"
This was the native name of Murray Hut now known as Finley.

Marnyong " A Camp
Boorpah A Rendevous, the ring inside of which important native rites are carried out. A most select circle
This is a name used by the Mossgiel blacks. Although I ?ont like the sound of it in other respects it would appear to be a suitable name for the Federal Capital

Belubla Big lagoon
Beregegama Now known as Horseshoe Lagoon Beregerera because so shaped
Nallabooma Pines on a sandhill
Bullatella Big Creek
Booligal Big Swamp

Queerbri (Rapid bend in river Namoi.) Fish swim quick
Berrabri Make haste. (Namoi blacks have Burri for make haste)
