had Breakfast cleaned up the camp reading and writing till 12.30 had dinner very hot day. rested till 5 P.M. fed up had tea went on outpost. nothing doing turned in 9.30 mosquitoes are Bad.
Wednesday July 18.7.17
turned out 4.15 rolled Blankets saddled up and followed the Suept road down to the lake no tracks watered camels. followed track Back as far as railway line fed up had Breakfast cleaned up camp took four camels to water to a swamp four mile away they would not drink. they layed down and rolled in it. returned to Camp had dinner 12.30 very hot day rested till 2 P.M.
