a population of some 5 or 6 thousand. It has 4 flour mills and a large Farriery and the river Test runs through the town. There are a large Congregational Church near the Abbey around which a stream of water flows through a race to drive a water wheel for a flour mill. The church is well built and of recent construction. It is mostly flints except the foundations, converse windows and doors which are all dressed stones. There is a statue of Lord Palmerstone in a square at the intersection of several streets near the abbey, and there is also a big arch over a street leading from the square to the Abbey. There is also a Y.M.C.A. institute for soldiers in the town as well as one at the Camp near the Isolation Vetenery Hospital.

Cloudy with occasional light showers. Y.M.C.A. and bought a dozen post cards of Romney & district.
The usual programme to do of shoeing & inspection. I was at the Camp Y.M.C.A. and I bought a dozen post cards of Romsey district.
