make my final departure. Parade at 8-30 a.m. on station. Plenty of German prisoners with their French guards. Obtain a few badges as souvenirs. Several aeroplanes going up the line. An ambulance train of wounded arrived & another to Havre for England. Hundreds of English Reinforcements from England. Waiting round until 12 noon talking to some Tommies & having tea in Y.M.C.A. Hut, & leave the station for lunch & last walk around that fine old town Rouen. Good-bye to Legge, Palliser, Scotty & all the boys, & go up town to buy a knife, soap box & some food & cigarettes. Parade again at 3 p.m. & equipped
