at a standstill owing to the weather. Home early & learning French. Bed late. No expenses to-day
5th Sept. October – Thursday
Drizzling rain & high winds. Unpleasant day. Received a letter from our friend Belge. Legge & I take a walk after tea & return home. The watch has not returned so to-morrow I shall require payment. Still awaiting news of departure to Etaples Camp or London. First news the cold-footed crowd being called up in Australia & aren't we pleased. Second French war loan advertised.
