Slave Island Brought a few common roses some roots of the Tuberosa and Eranthianum Pulchellum.etc from the neighbouring Gardens, tied some branches of the following Trees in the common way with coir Alligator Pear, Loquat Leechee, and a great number of the Gladitschia, horrida, to be in readiness to plant hedges removed from the nursery bed the few plants that grew from the seeds which I brought from England and collected at the different places we touched at during the voyage Canna Glauca, Parkinsonia aculeata, Geranum capitatum asparagus resemosa Datura stramonium Carduus marianus etc.
G.G. Fort Colombo Sowed a piece of ground with Madras beans an upright species of Dolichos it produces a bundle of small beans in the arm pits of the leaves in great abundance planted celery in the common way and kept it watered and shaded sowed and planted Lettuce, Endive etc.
