of an Gas attack. there was word sent through by some of the Guards who was on duty that night, that there was a gas attack on the left of this town. but nothing came of it, and had a comfortable sleep for the rest of the night. (It was here in the town of (Reninghelst) the day we left there we heard the news of Roumania joining the Allies which was received with cheers.) Tues 29th/8/18
It is now Thurs, Aug. 31st and have been in this town of 'Poperinghe' Two days, pouring rain the Whole while but we are in splendid Billets and very comfortable, but are about to move again any minute. I received a letter just now from Sister Louey.
