The anus in this subject was distended with feces [faeces] which, most probably, the dread of the violence that occasioned the death of the animal had brought there at that particular time.

The male has an external gland of the size of a nutmet situated on each side and rather below the anus.  When cut into they discharge a considerable quantity of a thinnish, oily and not stinking fluid.  The female has a pouch or false belly which occupies the whole hollowed out space between the hind legs. The two females I examined had both young in them when they were killed.  It was in the month of November.  There are two teats within the pouch; that on which the young had sucked was an inch and half long,
