I intend to search again next year for a passage but despair.

Ice is not the only obstacle the Coasts of the two continents are flat for some distance off in the middle between the two is little depth of water which with the circumstances tends to prove that there is more Land in the Frozen Sea than as yet we know of where the Ice has its source & that the Polar part is far from being an open Ice.

have lost Mr. Anderson a month ago one man of a Dropsy & one of C Clarkes drowned.

Crew healthy no scurvy.
