Sparrow, Tom Tit, Fan Tail & Ant Killer

1            2           3             4

This group of little Beauties is given as a Specimen of the Smaller Birds of this Country, of which species they are however by far the handsomest, the first two are as great Enemies to fruit as their Namesakes in England. The last mentioned lives on small Ants that dwell in large Trees, from which it takes its Name; these it takes with its long tongue which is somewhat simillar to that of the Honey Suckers; it is singular of the little Bird called the Fantail that the long Feathers which compose its Tail, all grow from one stem or Quill.
