THE SWAMP PHEASANT
Approaches in Plumage to the Pheasant of England, but does not possess such beautiful variety, its feathers on the contrary are Rather of a dull hue. - The feet of the Bird are Remarkable in having four Claws two placed on the fore and two on the hind part of the foot, It dwells in the large swamps or Marshes with which this Country abounds, and appears of a solitary disposition, two of them being rarely found together. It possesses no Aiquisity for the Table.
