On the 27th I was preparing to go on board the Porpoise to read my commission, but the convoy suddenly, making preparations to sail and having a number of Letters to close, and no Boat at my command to send them on board the Admiral's Ship, as I had no means of sending them on Shore; I sent my compliments to Captain Short and begged he would have the goodness to send to send a Boat to remain with me to convey them to some Ship.
