again applied for my opinion, as he terms it, by letter (a), the "Alexander and Elizabeth being about to leave us for Rio Janeiro, requesting to know whether it could not be better to proceed with those Ships; to which I answered by Letter (b) that we must proceed to the Cape of Good Hope according to the orders of my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty.
