will see there has been one Birth; being a Boy and the first born in the Settlement.  I had him Baptised on Christmas day by the name of Dalrymple his Mother lives with the Government Cooper and from her appearance she can not be far short of sixty years of age.

I have enclosed my remarks on the weather for the purpose of comparing this Climate with that of Port Jackson and if no accident happens to my Thermometer I intend making these observations during my stay in this Country, and I beg to request you will do me the honor of noticing the difference in your Sydney Gazette and transmit a Copy of it, to Sir Joseph Banks.

I will be thankful if you will send my Barometer, by the first safe conveyance and also a thermometer if one can be had at Sydney, which will enable me to make my remarks upon my excursions and have the same attended to here during my occasional absences.
