[Page 7]

Courts all ultimately rest with me in decision; besides all concerns of Government in public works and issues of Stores, and distribution of Convict Servants - nothing can be trusted to be done but under the Governor's orders.

To add to my labour I have now Norfolk Island to evacuate.  I have begun on this business and hope to complete it with much satisfaction.

Mr. Humphrey is at present at the Derwent - he is to return hither as soon as he has accomplished his pursuit - is he under any promise to send things to you or what claim has Government on him?  he appeared a clever Young Man, but I am sorry to find Bills to a large amount which he drew, are come out protested, and I fear may be the cause of depriving him of his liberty .

My Daughter & her Husband have been a most inestimable Treasure to me, but alas we are now in great distress expecting his dissolution every day from a consumption.

Adieu my Dear Sir
I remain with regard very
faithfully Yours

Wm Bligh
