of that affair that the Governor and me can be upon the confidential terms which we formerly had been;  but I am sure it will be pleasing for you to know that we parted friends, which I conceived to be absolutely necessary for the good of His Majestys Service.

     In consequence of the many Settlements formed and to be formed in this Teritory &c it will certainly appear evident that our Military force at present is very inadequate for their protection.  Should my former proposals for raising a Corps be ever thought of at any future period - I beg once more to Solicit your good Offices which I am confident will not fail to have great weight.
