     Caley is also doing very well - If there is a probability of my remaining much longer in this part of the World, I should wish to have a steady young Man as a Gardiner - one who has a turn for collecting Natural History - The fruits of his Labour;  should be carefully transmitted to you

     The unfortunate differences which has happened with all parties in this Colony has given such disgust at the public offices, (and not without camp) that I fear our representations will be but little attended to.

     I am rather disappointed in not being made acquainted with what notice has been taken respecting the unfortunate correspondence which took place between the Governor & myself aluding to the French Officers having sold Spirits;  whether the Governor is in possession of any thing respecting that circumstance I do not know.
