Sydney November 5 1806

My Dear Sir

     I cannot let the Alexander Sail from hence without writing to you altho [although] the Buffalo with Governor King will follow in the course of the Month.  He has been detained owing to the great deal there has been to do in the public accounts connected with the Commissary.  He will take you many fine plants which have been got by Caley & Colonel Paterson and every other thing they have to send.  Mr. Marsden will accompany Gov: King who will be able to give you the best of information respecting the Colony and its concerns.  Owing to an innundation of the Hawkesbury, which you will have heard of, we are in great want of Grains, it has been a great calamity but the ensuing
