we have not an officer want except the Master who is vigilant or trustworthy - this in bad weather gives me much concern, and I am obliged to be always on the lookout.  You will readily believe I long to be at my journey's end, from whence as I have told the Secretary of State you may hear of my decisions but not troubled with details on bad characters.  The Packet I send you contains Letters & orders - a statement, without a comment, of C. Shorts conduct - a copy of my letter to the Secretary of State & Admiralty - & copies of those I sent by the Justine.  It has almost worn me out, but I felt them all necessary to be sent. 

The Elizabeth South Sea Whaler leave us, with and goes with the Alexander
