My Dear Sir
I am arrived thus far after a very fine passage across the Line without Rain, Thunder, Lightning or Calms since we passed the Canaries, but we had very hot weather which has effected me with severe headachs and some low feverish symptoms which already begin to remove, as the air becomes cooler, and I hope to be well again.
On the 11th March we passed Isld. San Antonio and on the 25th we crossed the Equator in longitude 23o : 0'3 W. In consequence of the Equinox, & I had passed the tract nearly on a Meridian with Is. Tago to the Equator
