Sir,

I beg leave to acquaint you that I have taken much pains in endeavouring to obtain from Mr. Walls a warrant agt. James Spikin on suspicion of having feloniously stolen one ewe sheep the property of Eustace Compton whose evidence I think very clear & have had a conversation with, & written sevl. letters to, Mr. Walls upon the Business & I shall be happy to wait upon You with the Documents relative thereto in order to explain fully the sevl. circumstances which cannot so well be done by letter - as I understand from Mr. Compton that you wish to settle the matter between the Parties, but my doubts are whether this again can or ought to be adjusted without the aid of a Court of Justice.  I therefore request the Favor of an appointmt. when most convenient for me to attend you at Reavesby [Revesby] any Day - except to morrow or Monday - and am

Sir Your mt. obd. huble. servt.
