so rapid.  I have observed almost an incredible Improvement in every Generation both in the Quality of the Wool and weight of the Sheep, and on that account can form no opinion to what degree of perfection they may in Time be brought, I am of opinion that the Improvements already made are to be attributed more to the salubrity of the Climate than to any other cause.  I do not apprehend that the three Fleeces now transmitted to your Excellency can be any true Criterion of the Quality of the Wool that may be grown in the Colony, they only shew what has been done.  The Fleeces are only one remove from very coarse hairy Ewes - a few Generations more will make great Alteration in our Flocks.
