The Skin of a bird that is sent to Ld. Sydney may merit attention, it differs much from the Ostrich & from the Emu of South America, Black Swans are common, but only one has been kill'd. They are very Noble birds, the upper part of the Bill is red, & the ends of the long feathers in the Wings are white.
The Ochres & the Stone with the appearance of metal, were found in a Slate quarry, the Slate unfortunately is bad & will not split.
Of the Country all I know is communicated to Mr. Nepean, & to whom I must beg to refer you, he will tell you that I have traced the Native Thirty Miles in land, & seen Smoke on Landsdown Hills, which are fifty Miles from the Sea Coast.
