Later the 3rd left Vermozelle, & after two days in Caestre left for the Somme after the 1st, whom I saw on the train. They landed at near Amiens, & went through some bombing experiences, -- losing Birch of the transport who was killed, & several wounded including Billy Roscoe . Heisman of [indecipherable] party.
After this they returned north, & afte their train on the way to Hazebrouck
