and continuous bombardment last night, this morning and throughout the day.
There was a lot of rain early this morning and throughout the day. I am on 4th picquet to night or rather to morrow morning from 3 to 6.
There is good news from all the fronts. The Italians have changed from defence to attack. There are great victories in the neighbourhood of Cambrai. Bourbon wood is captured. All attacks at Passchendaele & Ypres have failed.
Wednesday Nov. 28. 1917. 1213
I had a busy time this morning on picquet, 2 draughts to feed, 11 men & an officer to call at 5.30. Got breakfast ready for 8 men & an officer who was going on leave. I was also hut orderly for the day.
The weather is again fine.
Driver Roy Ward was sent to the hospital today with scavey.
Thursday Nov. 29. 1917. 1214
A fine day.
The rings that I made have a great repitation. I have to make some for several of the officers.
We were paid to night . I drew 20 francs 14/8.

The Battalion went into the trenches today & will remain there for 8 days.
