the mounted troops are leaving this front & that we are going to Yudia for garrison duty. Certainly most of the yeomanry have gone down to Deir El Belah. But I think all this retrograde movement has a great deal to do is largely due to the difficulties of transporting fodder when we have so many divisions of infantry in front of us as well.

This is a very sedentary life here now, the sick & ailing usually keep us working in the morning
