down an Infantry chap came along & sayed we might as well come down to there Dugouts as it was safer. Just as we got there the barage started & seemed to allmost take the paint of our Tin Hats. The Dugout was about 20 ft deep & dry so we were dry & comfortable for the time. As there was too much smoke & fog to see any distance did not move the Tank again in fact doubt if we could have done so as the ground was soft & stickie. About 7 our Officer sent us home. The advance had gone well & only a few heavy shells were coming over & some prisoners comeing in
