2nd Years Diary
1916
May 12th.
Engineering till 5am, slept in till midday. Relieved 15th Battn 10pm same night. all OK.
May 13th.
Wet morning. engineering from dinner till 6pm.
May 14th Sunday Cold.
Our trucks shelled & we also retalliated later. Mail in. On wiring party night.
15th. Monday.
Cold & wet. again shelled and parapet had to be repaired from same. With 'full kit' left trenches on Furlough to England. marched to Steenwerk where we stayed till 5am next day.
