Wed 17th April 1918  (6 months in France)
All the afternoon he has been shelling this Village. 4.16.6W. in Pioneers. Fighting still heavy in the North. Wychaate & Meteran captured by enemy. Big attack expected here & our 35th to counter attack.

Thurs 18th
At Villers Bretonneaux. Raining & cold. Heavy artillery fire throughout night & early morning. Enemy still sending gas shells over on our front.  Report from North says heavy fighting at Wychaate & along 2nd Army Front. On duty 9 to 3 pm.
