Today 18 K. Our sig station is on the hilltop at the edge of the wood & we have a fine view of the ground up the valley of the Somme & can see right over the many lines & watch their movements. Further up the river on the right bank lie the ruins of Sailly-le-Sec captured by us in June, & further on is Sailly Laurettes, in enemy hands, the front line running between the towns.
