Sat13th April 1918
rest beat a retreat. On the officer were found papers giving enemy plans of attack etc & other valuable information. In another case an N.C.O. of the 46th Batt with a MG held up & drove 3 successive waves of the enemy in an attack, & then charged them with the bayonet.

Combined French & British attack on Hanguard (39th French & 18th British Divisions) entirely successful last night. 50 enemy planes brought down yesterday. Fighting still pounding in the North our line now running  near Meuries, Neuve Eglise [now called Nieuwkerke] etc
