They consisted of tinned fruit, condensed milk, coffee & milk cocoa, tin Arnotts sao per mess and soap. Very acceptable. At night the boys drunk the donors health in tea and after singing "For they are jolly good fellows" they gave them 3 cheers.
At night spent writing again.

Thursday 2nd
Sent letters for Christmas Mail to Australia including 2 books of views.

Friday 3rd
Raining.

Saturday 4th\
Photos came to hand from Chesneys Ltd. Learnt to play chess.

Sunday 5th
Raining a gale all day. Wrote some letters.

Monday 6th
Working in the Orderly Room understudying the Clerks.
Sent a letter to Agent General N.S.W. to send cable to cousin Jim for funds (£5).

Tuesday 7th
Visit to Dentists. Orderly room again. Alteration of Drivers pay.
Wrote letters.

Wednesday 8th
Orderly Room.

Thursday 9th
Australian mail in. Preparations now being made for an early transfer to France. Night work in Orderly Room.

Friday 10th

Saturday 11th
Received quite a shock when a route march with full packs was ordered for to this afternoon. We were quite out of condition after the wet weather but the march being on a Saturday and so close to embarkation rather jarred.

Sunday 12th
Still another march with full pack up thro' Amesbury to Stonehenge and back.
Received news thro' Australian Headquarters of the death of Bert Fitzpatrick killed in action.
