neath the drooping Virgin. It was a lovely ride & the view from the top of the hill was wonderful. Star shells lit up the sky also the roadway. Had a cup of coffee when I got back it went down well. The Adjutant secured a German Howitzer shell case for me, the only souvenir I have of this Front (Somme).

Am still in Senlis but am expecting a sudden move any minute.
Last night about 30 shells were dropped near by landing amongst some horses & doing a fair amount of damage. This afternoon I rode up the hill & witnessed a German bombardment. They were lobbing them on top of the next rise
