Went to the hospital in the morning. The place is now usually packed with patients in door & out, clamouring for admission. Some have the fever but the majority come to have their leg bandaged, for any small wound even a puncture caused by a mosquito fester & spreads often taking poison & causing great irritation. The usual treatment at the hospital is to paint the wound with iodine of which they seem to have an unlimited supply on hand.

The definition of one of the heads of our army :- One half officers & non coms, & the other made up of prisoners , spies and hospital patients is fairly correct.

In the evening we had an exciting pig chase but although we had three shots we did not get anyway near them
