During the night the black prisoners rushed the guard & got out of the gaol. They went at the picket armed with all sorts of outlandish weapons but were driven back one being captured, together with all their kits.
Sunday 27th September
On guard all day no excitement.
Monday 28th September
Loafed all day
Tuesday 29th September
Ceremonial parade in the afternoon. About 30 native police who had been captured were taken into our service.
Menu slightly strengthened by the introduction of fish & lime juice.
Wednesday 30th September
One of the "Starvation Six" caught a fish.
In the afternoon we hoisted the wireless pole & dug trenches.
