At various stations down the line we had cups of coffee etc. At Strathfield, as we went through we made an awful noise with staff whistles. "Evening" dress was the order in the train.'At Casula we made even more noise to let the camp know we were on our way. As we drew farther down the line it began to rain & we had to put up the windows. Our positions were thus

The heat was great & we were obliged to divest ourselves of more equipment which is very warm. After we passed Goulburn & could eat no more we turned out the gas & tried to sleep. Eric made no end of such remarks as Stone the bats because of his inability to sleep
