More daylight robbery – lime juice procurable at 3d a mug - stores again.
The Afric is being painted a dull leaden grey colour to make her as invisible as possible from any distance, the same as warships are painted. After roll call it was our usual custom to vanish as quickly as possible. For half an hour Fat, Eric, & myself spent an agonising time to find a place to hide in - in the shade & at last we found a good place in the shadow of a lifeboat. The O.C. warns the troops against selling equipment or stores to the crew & yet with this notice pasted in their quarters the greasers are selling our lime juice at 3d a mugful.
