I have the honor to write to you for the information of my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, and beg leave to refer you to my dispatch of the 30th of last April as being immediately connected with my present letter.

 After I had appointed Lieutenant William Kent as acting commander of the Porpoise, on the 29th of March, he Sailed as then related, for Port-Dalrymple, on the 19th of April without any orders from me, although I Sent my Secretary and the Master of the Rose, Mr. Richard Brooks, to impress on his mind, that it was necessary to separate himself from the Rebels, and keeping his Ship in good order, never to lose sight of me or suffer any insult to be offered to my person and
