Sydney-Cove, Port-Jackson,

Sir

     I have to inform you, that this day I have received a letter from Commodore William Bligh ordering all officers to repair on board to their respective Situations; he likewise inclosed [enclosed], in his letter to me, an order that was given to Captain Short, to bear you and fourteen men, in the Lady Nelson armed Tender to His Majesty's Ship Porpoise, as Supernumeraries, for wages, and victuals.

     I have therefore to request you will join His Majesty's armed Tender Lady Nelson, and assume the command, which Lieutenant Ellison will deliver up to you, he being ordered to join His Majesty's Ship Porpoise, you giving him proper receipts
