9 opend one of the dollar chests & were surprisd to find English 5 shill dollars instead of Spanish ones.
The governor undertook to assist in the Purchase of asses & told him that Strong asses would Cost about 8 dollars Each & Corn one dollar a Bushel
10 28 asses arrivd they had been purchasd by the Governors People at 4 dollars Each & Corn one dollar a Bushel offerd for 8.  Park objected to 5 as being young.  The Price of the 23 was instantly raisd to 10 dollars Each & Park Oblig thought it wise to purchase them
14 the Governor gave up the ass Contract but Said a Tax of a dollar a head on Every ass Laid a Tax of a dollar a head on every ass sold at Porto Praya
16 on examining the measures by which the Corn had been bought it appeard that the one of andrew Mancess was ridiculously too Small Park went with it to the Governor & requested him to decide whether it was standard, he Equivocated some time but at last Compared it with a standard measure markd C.R. & decided that P. should pay for 84 bushels instead of 101 which Andrew had chargd making a difference of 20 dollars which P. immediately Placd on the table & desird they might be given to the Poor Every one was astonishd and ask P. for his Reason, he Said his Complaint was made for the Love of justice not of money & Paid the dollars to the Priest for charity
17 the Governor put two men in Prison for Selling asses to P. cheaper than Nicaloa the governors agent &
