To the Most Honourable the Lords of H M Treasury

The memorial of Mr James Dickson of Covent Garden a relation of Mr Alexr Anderson Employd (if alive) in Company with Mr Mungo Park in Discovery in the interior of Africa under the orders of H M Secy of State for the Colonial Departmt Humbly  Sheweth

That when Mr Alexr Anderson undertook to accompany Mr Mungo Park in the Voyage & Journey of Discovery in which (if alive) he is now Engaged & which Commenced in the Month of March 1805 it was agreed among other things, that in the Case of the Said Alexr Anderson not being heard of at the Expiratn of Two years & a half ^
^ after the time of his Leaving England
that the Sum of one Thousand Pounds Should be Paid to Mr Thomas Anderson Surgeon in Selkirk his Father

That the said Thomas Anderson has Constituted your memorialist his Lawfull attorney to Receive on his account & for his use the said Sum of one Thousand Pounds as will appear by the Power of attorney Annexd to this memorial
