is supposed to be one of the oldest villages in Palestine. It was here that there was once a 7 yrs siege. There is nothing to remind one now of its importance for it is a evil smelling filthy place & the inhabitants look as though they are degenerating.Monday Dec 31There was no excitement. The old year passed quietly away. Most thoughts I think were wondering if the coming year would bring the war to a close.1918Jan 1Raining again. The dump & Railway is just about a mass of sand.
