at 2 pm up the road towards Esault. Progress was slow owing to our transport & the hilly nature of the road.
We passed great quantity of stores, rolling stock, guns & equipment left by the Turks in their hurried retreat. The Handley Page bombing planes played havoc among the Turks constantly bombing them as thy retired We saw the gun Jericho Jane which gave us so much trouble overturned in the bed of a Wadi. We kept going until 9 pm and camped on road about 3 miles below Esault. That night we had no sleep due to Mosquitos
