good, and there will be very little drill done so that we should have a good time, as this is considered the best time of the year for sea travelling.

Saw the last of NSW about 6 o'clock am.

Saturday 16th
Didn't call at Melbourne, which was a bit of a disappointment.

The coolies provide plenty of amusement with their habits etc. Washing seems to be a part of their religion, though whether it is to wash, or not to, I don't know. They wash in about 1 pint of water; first their hands, and then splash their face and run a wet finger round their ears
