September   1918

22 SUN  
Dull. windy day. raining at  night. Boys left  for Australia 8 am. Good  send off. No amm.  Guns active on both sides.
Yanks  started to arrive. Rec. letters  from Maggie & Amy Mc. Writing  at night. Quiet.

23 MON  
Fine day. 1st Div. Inf went  out of action. Yanks in galore  coming in & taking over. Our  artillery to cover them.
Guns  active on both sides. Rec. letter  from Amy. Writing.

24 TUES  
Fine day. Amm. going  up for stunt. Americans & flying  columns & B.A.C's arriving in galore.   Tanks going up.
Quiet. Few  bombs at night. very handy  Little rain. fine after. Posted letters  to Amy. Maggie & May.

25 WED   
Amm  going up in galore also guns  etc. Good news from the east.   'Hun' counter attack in morning  repulsed.
Quiet. Few bombs  at night.
