29 THUR Fine day. Warm. further advance all along the line. Moved off at 2. PM. & bivouacked near Estrees Guns well forward. Very quiet. Little opposition. Inf. crossed Somme. Guns pulled out at 12 P.M.Quiet Reveille 4 am. Moved off at 6 am.
30 FRI Heard Peronne had fallen. Passed through Foucaucourt, Proyart etc. & camped near Sailly Laurette.Moved in aft on River Bank. Fixing up camp. Rec. 3 letters from Else P. 1.Gladys C. Quiet night.
31 SAT Fine day rain on & off. Fixing Camp. Rode over to Behencourt in aft. Did not see Tense.Saw Mme Le Ferme. called at Bavelincourt came home via La Houssaye Bonnay & Vause Rec. letters from Reg C. Amy. Card from Julie & letter Tense. Home. 9 P.M.
