Started sleeping in bed-hammock on boat deck tonight. Had a good rest.

Monday 16/11/14

Had to get out of bed at 4 A.M. to do 2nd turn of Guard duty. Relieved at 8 A.M. H.M.S. "Yarmouth" light town class cruiser & exact replica of the "Sydney" & "Melbourne" came up from the South & entered roadstead about 9.45 A.M. She passed quite close & with glasses I could see a shot hole in 2nd funnel through which the smoke used to belch now & then: she also had red-leaded patches on her gun casements & looked as if she had been out a long time. Started boxing with Cpl Burns.
