August Sept 28th. Monday

Rose 6 AM. on deck 6.30 splendid morning, "Euripide" moving out from wharf & going round domain. 7 A.M. "Argyllshire" also moves off. breakfast, 9. A.M. "clan Macquorkandale moves in and unships horses. 9.30 parade, My day for duty as officer of Guard, 11.30 took guard of 18 men, 2 n.c.os to guard main gate & German ship "Berlin" 12.30 "Afric" Moves off to Neutral Bay, we are notified that we will also move off in morning.
